About Lindsey
Lindsey is a nurse of settler descent in that was born and raised in the prairies of the land currently called Canada (Treaty 6 territory). She completed a master’s degree in community health in the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic, and soon found herself moving from Saskatoon, SK, to Whitehorse, YT. She is grateful to be living and working in the beautiful lands that are the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council.
She has clinical nursing experience in long term care, inpatient oncology, emergency nursing, immunization, public health. Additionally, she has experience in nursing education and community/global health research, with a focus on examining power structures, and looking at the ethics of knowledge translation within global health research. She currently teaches nursing at Yukon University (Ayamdigut Campus).
Outside of academics, she enjoys connecting with the world around her, often through movement, and through photography/videography projects.
